2026 Kia EV4 Release Date
The 2026 Kia EV4 is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2026. It will be the first sedan in the Kia electric lineup and it will include ambient interior lighting along with an understated dashboard design. Powertrain and performance
Every new 2026 Kia EV4 will be powered by a 200-horsepower electric motor with that will drive the front wheels. All-wheel drive will not be available but all versions will operate with 400-volt architecture. The 2026 Kia EV4 will operate with either a 58.3-kilowatt battery or a larger 81.4-kilowatt version for the Wind and GT line models. It's expected that with the standard battery pack, the new Kia EV4 will reach 62 mph in 7.4 seconds. With the larger and heavier long-range battery pack, the 60-mph estimate drops to 7.7 seconds.
Driving Range and Charging Times
You'll be able to choose from two battery sizes. One will be a standard version with only about 225 miles of driving range and a longer-range option that will come in at around 330 miles of driving range. That's obviously quite a bit less than the 437 miles of driving range in the comparable gas-powered compact Kia K4 sedan but it's not an uncommon number among electric vehicles.
Reports indicate that the new 2026 Kia EV4 sedan will take somewhere between eight and 12 hours to reach a full charge if you pay to install a Level 2 charging system in your garage. Interior highlights
The inside of the new Kia EV4 appears to offer more space than the comparable Kia K4 compact sedan. The second row appears to have quite a bit of legroom although the sloped ceiling could create a tighter situation for taller adults.
Technology
The 2026 Kia EV4 will have the same dual 12.3-inch displays that are available on many of its proven gas-powered models. The two larger displays will appear on either side of a smaller 5.0-inch climate control touch screen, and Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ will be included along with over-the-air updates. In addition, the 2026 EV 4 will be offered with a Kia Digital Key 2.0 system that provides you with access to the vehicle using your smartphone. It will let you remotely lock or unlock the doors and control the climate system using the Kia app.
Trim levels
The 2026 Kia EV4 will come with just three trims. The Light model will be the entry-level trim with a starting price in the range of around $39,000 while the mid-level Wind will have an estimated starting price of about $47,000. The top-range GT-Line will start at about $52,000 and will come with 19-inch wheels and distinctive styling elements.
