If you need a stylish and affordable sedan then the Kia Forte is probably on your radar. However, there's another strong contender: the Honda Civic. Here's how the price, performance, and amenities compare.

The Kia Forte

  • Standard 2.0L engine with 147 horsepower
  • 6-speed M/T standard on the base (Intelligent Variable Transmission Optional)
  • IVT standard on remaining trims
  • 14 Gallon fuel tank
  • Manufacturers suggested starting prices range from $17,690 to $21,990

The Honda Civic

  • 2.0L engine with 158 horsepower and 1.5L turbocharged with 174 horsepower
  • 6-speed M/T available on two trims
  • CVT on remaining trims
  • 12.39 Gallon fuel tank
  • Manufacturers suggested starting prices range from $19,450 to $27,300

Spec wise, there's no discounting that the Civic has more performance than the Forte, but that performance comes at a price and you'll pay significantly more for the Civic than the Forte! We also like that the Forte has a slightly larger fuel tank, and that's great for shoppers who have put a lot of miles on their sedan during their work commute.

The Kia Forte

  • Standard 8-inch touchscreen
  • Standard Apple CarPlayâ„¢/Android Autoâ„¢
  • Standard Driver Attention Warning + four other advanced safety features
  • Cloth, premium cloth, or Sofino leatherette seats
  • Available Harman Kardon speaker
  • Available 10-way power-adjusting driving seat with lumbar support
  • Available heated and ventilated front seats

The Honda Civic

  • Standard Honda Sensing® advanced safety technologies
  • 7-inch touchscreen w/ Apple CarPlayâ„¢ and Android Autoâ„¢ on all but base trim
  • Cloth or leather-trimmed seats
  • Available Honda premium audio system
  • Available 8-way power-adjust driver seat
  • Available heated front seats

The Civic might beat the Forte on performance, but we think shoppers will like the tech and interior offerings on the Forte more. Unlike the Civic, all trims get a touchscreen with smartphone capabilities, and the screen is one-inch larger. You'll also get extra upholstery options, a more flexible power-adjusting seat for the driver, and the choice to ventilate the front seats during the warmer months. Both trims have a mix of advanced safety features, though the Forte has a driver attention warning system that isn't found on the Civic.

The Civic has been around for a long time and is no slouch. Even though it brings more performance to the pavement, shoppers of all budgets will find more infotainment technology from the get go on the Forte. Stop into our dealership this week to check out our 2019 Kia Forte selection!
