Shopping for a sedan is no easy task, especially because there are so many to choose from! The Toyota Corolla is definitely a popular choice, but we're here to show you why the Kia Forte is a better one.

The Kia Forte
- Standard 147-horsepower 2.0L engine
- Base trim comes with 6-speed manual transmission
- Intelligent Variable Transmission is standard on all other trims and optional on the Base
- 15.3 cubic foot trunk and 14-gallon fuel tank
- Manufacturer's suggested prices start at $17,690 and go up to $21,990
The Toyota Corolla
- Standard 1.8L engine with 132 horsepower (140 horsepower on one trim)
- 6-speed manual transmission on a mid-range trim (Continuously Variable Transmission on the remainder)
- 13 cubic foot trunk and 13.2-gallon fuel tank
- Manufacturer's suggested prices start at $18,700 and go up to $22,880
Engines in this segment aren't expected to be super powerful, but we like that the Forte has noticeably stronger performance than the Corolla, and that's especially helpful if you'll have a lot of people along for the office carpooling ride. The Forte also has slightly lower pricing, and we think you'll like the larger trunk that can accommodate more grocery bags for your weekly errands or luggage for a long weekend away!
The Kia Forte
- All Forte's have an 8-inch touchscreen
- Apple CarPlayâ„¢ & Android Autoâ„¢ are standard
- Choose between cloth, premium cloth, or leatherette seating materials
- There's available 10-way power seating for the driver, plus power lumbar support
- You can get heated and ventilated front seats
The Toyota Corolla
- Touchscreens range from 6.1-inches to 7-inches
- No Apple CarPlayâ„¢ or Android Autoâ„¢
- Option of cloth or leatherette seats
- Available power-seating up to 8-ways
- Available heated seats but no available ventilation
When you spend a lot of time behind the wheel, you want to make sure your sedan has everything you need. The Corolla isn't bad, but the Forte really stands out. You get a larger touchscreen, smartphone capabilities the Corolla lacks, and extra seating options.
The Corolla might be a household name, but while resting on its laurels the Forte has had time to get a better infotainment setup, build a strong engine, and provide more offerings for comfort and convenience. Stop into our Kia dealership this week to check out our 2019 Kia Forte selection and head out on a test drive!
