The Kia Sorento Goes Up Against Three-Row Competition from Hyundai, Ford, Honda, and Toyota!

It comes as no surprise that the Kia Sorento is our favorite three-row crossover, but it's not the only one that shoppers from Raynham or Fall River get to decide on. Below are reasons why you'll want to buy or lease a Sorento over the competition.

The Kia Sorento vs the Hyundai Santa Fe

  • Safety: upper-level Kia Sorento trims come with a slew of advanced safety features, like Driver Attention Warning, pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, etc. With the Santa Fe you need to get package add-ons.
  • Seating: the Sorento has standard seating for seven, whereas the top Santa Fe trim only seats six.
  • Trims: there are six Sorento trims to choose from, compared to the three Santa Fe options.

The Kia Sorento vs the Ford Explorer

  • Tech Features: all Sorento's come standard with a touchscreen and Apple CarPlayâ„¢/Android Autoâ„¢. You don't get that standard on the Explorer until the third trim.
  • Seating: the Sorento has more front leg-room than the Ford Explorer.
  • Safety: Sorento shoppers can get a Surround View camera, which is not available on the Explorer.

The Kia Sorento vs the Honda Pilot

  • Seating: the Sorento's driver seat can be power-adjusted up to 14-ways, compared to the Pilot's that can only be adjusted up to 10 different ways.
  • Performance: most Sorento trims have the option to get Torque Vectoring Cornering Control to help with stability and unwanted under-steering. The Honda Pilot does not have this option.
  • Tech Features: just like with the Explorer, the Pilot doesn't come with a standard touchscreen.

The Kia Sorento vs the Toyota Highlander

  • Tech Features: the Highlander does come with a touchscreen, but no trims offer Apple CarPlayâ„¢ or Android Autoâ„¢.
  • Performance: the base engine on the Sorento can tow up to 2,000 pounds, compared to the Highlander's starting 1,500-pound tow rating.
  • Safety: the Sorento has parking sensors (front/rear) that are standard on the upper-trim levels, as well as a Driver Attention Warning system. The Highlander offers neither.

The Kia Sorento has some tough competition, but it's able to stand out, especially when it comes to convenience and safety technology for driving in busier Plymouth or on the Bourne backroads.
